Musical Theatre Workshop to Present “Freakshow”

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union’s Department of Music will feature “Freakshow” as this year’s Musical Theatre Workshop program.

The performance is directed by Ron Hazelett, lecturer of voice, and choreographed by junior Alex Waitinas, a music and theatre major of Bristolville, Ohio.

The program will be performed at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, November 13 and at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 14 in Presser Recital Hall. Presser is located inside of Cope Musical Hall at the intersection of Simpson Street and Union Avenue.

During the concert, various pieces from the Broadway repertoire will be performed.

Student performers include junior political science major Clinton Simmons of Lorain, Ohio; junior psychology major Jake Rogers of Waynesburg, Ohio; Waitinas; sophomore theatre major Sarah Yannie of Rocky River, Ohio and sophomore communication and theatre major Rachel Irwin of Mentor, Ohio. Waitinas has also taken on the role of assistant director in addition to her role as choreographer.
