National Girls and Women in Sports Day
February 28, 2011
The University of Mount Union, in conjunction with the Alliance YWCA, will host the 25th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Sunday, April 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Mount Union’s McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex (The MAAC).
Mount Union female athletes will be on hand holding clinics in many different sports and health and fitness techniques.
The National Girls and Women in Sports Day was established by a congressional resolution in 1986 to celebrate the achievements of girls and women in sports. The event is a collaborative effort that allows representatives of women's sports to educate young women about the benefits of sport and to encourage girls and women to participate in sports.
This event is open to all 2nd to 12th grade girls. All participants must sign a waiver. Registration is free, and a t-shirt is optional for $7. A waiver form is required for all participants.
Please note: Registration is full for brownies and juniors. Sports clinics are full, but there is still room available for archery and basketball.Back to Previous Page
