Nature Center Presents Nature's Instrument: The Native American Flute

The John T. Huston - Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center will present 'Nature's Instrument: The Native American Flute' on Sunday, August 15 from 1:30 ' 2:30 p.m.


Dr. James Perone, associate professor of music at Mount Union College, will present a program on the Native American flute. You will hear the traditional legend of how the flute came into being and will hear a live performance of several traditional and contemporary selections for the instrument. Perone will also discuss and demonstrate the ties between the human, natural and spiritual worlds in Native American music. Weather permitting the program will take place outdoors.
