Nature Center to hold Bird Biology Lecture on June 11

The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center will hold a lecture entitled “Bird Biology: Flight” on Thursday, June 11 at 8 p.m.

Participants have the opportunity to join students in Chuck McClaugherty’s Ornithology class for a series of lectures on Bird Biology. Lectures will be held on six successive Thursdays at 8 p.m. at the Visitors Center. The lectures will not require prior biology classes or knowledge and will be suitable for adults and middle to high school-aged students.

This lecture will look at how birds fly. Participants will learn about the various adaptations that birds have for flight including feathers, muscles and bones.
