Nature Center to Hold Great Backyard Bird Count
February 6, 2004
The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center will hold a "Great Backyard Bird Count" Friday, February 13 from 8-10 a.m.; Saturday, February 14 from 10 a.m.- noon; Sunday, February 15 from 2 - 4 p.m.; and Monday, February 16 from 8 - 10 a.m.
The Nature Center is participating in the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology and the Audubon Society's "Great Backyard Bird Count" again this year. We stay cozy inside our bird observatory and tally the highest number of each kind of bird we see at our feeders at one time on each day of the count.
You can join us for any or all of the count days. All ages and skill levels are welcome! Help scientists define the status of winter birds. We will send our tally sheets to the "Great Backyard Bird Count" website each day so that the lab scientists can analyze the populations in our area and across the country. The website addresses is www.birdsource.org.
No registration required. Call the Nature Center at (330) 823-7487 with any questions. The Nature Center is located 6 miles south of Mount Union College on Daniel Street, just off Route 183.
