Nature Center to Hold International Migratory Bird Day Walk

May 14, 2009

The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center of Mount Union College will be holding a Migratory Bird Day Walk on Sunday, May 17 from 2 to 4 p.m.

In honor of International Migratory Bird Day, participants will learn to identify by sight and sound 10 of the most common migratory birds.  The session will begin with a brief orientation in the Visitors Center and then move into the field to look and listen for the flying gems that are neotropical migrants, coming back to Ohio for the summer. Participants will also learn about how birds have influenced cultures around the world.

No registration is required. The Nature Center is located six miles south of Mount Union College on Daniel Street, just off of Route 183. For more information, contact the Nature Center at (330) 823-7487.
