Nature Center to Hold Open House for Carnation Festival

The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center will hold an open house for the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival on Sunday, August 16 from 2 to 6 p.m.
From 2 to 4 p.m., participants will be able to hike the entire nature center including the north woods, old woods and the barn/pond areas. Tours will cover ecology, tree identification, geology and local history. From 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., participants will be able to hike the boardwalk trail and visit the barn and pond. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.
No registration is required. The Nature Center is located six miles south of Mount Union College on Daniel Street, just off of Route 183. For more information, contact the Nature Center at (330) 823-7487.
