Nature Center to Hold Volunteer Training September 5 and 6

May 10, 2010

The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center of Mount Union College will hold Volunteer Training sessions on Wednesday, September 5 and Thursday, September 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

After completing initial training, the programs offered to educators will be discussed. Participants will learn what is covered in each program and gain suggestions for activities that will complement the theme of each program.

Participants will then have the opportunity to sign up to observe some of the outdoor trail programs. The Nature Center staff asks that volunteers observe at least two programs or more, led by trained guides and then lead one with a trained guide to help the volunteer. The volunteer will then be able to lead his or her own group.

This workshop is open to high school-aged students through adults and lunch is provided .

Registration is required. The Nature Center is located six miles south of Mount Union College on Daniel Street, just off of Route 183. For more information, contact the Nature Center at (330) 823-7487.
