Teaching Area(s): Psychology and Neuroscience

In our department, the focus is on methodology and getting practical internship and research experience. This approach can give different approaches to thinking and reasoning, which leads to better preparation for the work environment and graduate school.

Hands-On Learning

Students who choose to major in neuroscience at Mount Union have ample opportunities to get “real-world” experience outside of the classroom. By getting involved in extracurricular opportunities and student organizations, you can strengthen your skills and knowledge in behavioral and mental neuroscience, both of which are critical to career success.

Research allows you to analyze and investigate areas that you’re most interested in. Students at Mount Union have the following research opportunities:

  • Independent research
  • Research with faculty or student peers
  • Honors projects
  • Research-based courses

Internships provideyou the chance to go into the workforce and gain hands-on experience, which is critical to finding a job after graduation. Internships provide a significant learning experience outside the traditional academic environment and it can be tailored to align with your career goals. Internship opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • Group homes
