Inspirational Voices of Praise (IVOP), University of Mount Union’s gospel choir, will present its annual spring concert on Saturday, April 16 at 6 p.m. in the Dewald Chapel, located on Mount Union’s campus.

University of Mount Union alumnus, Dr. Sylvester “Sy” Green ’64 was inducted into The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges’ (OFIC) Hall of Excellence at an awards ceremony held Wednesday, April 6 in Columbus. The Hall honors alumni of member institutions of the OFIC whose lifetime achievements exemplify the traditions, ideals, strengths and values of private higher education.

Stark County’s Honors Flute Choir will perform Thursday, April 14 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall on the University of Mount Union’s campus.

The University of Mount Union Women’s Chorus will perform Monday, April 11 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.

The University of Mount Union Jazz Ensemble, along with guest artist Bob Ferrel, will present a concert Wednesday, April 13 at 7 p.m. in the Campus Grounds of the Hoover-Price Campus Center.

The Alliance Symphony Orchestra and the University of Mount Union will present a Solo con Tutti concert Sunday, April 17 at 3 p.m. in the Alliance High School Auditorium. The concert will feature solo performances by the 2010 Solo con Tutti Concerto and Aria Competition winners – flutist Drew Duncan of Massillon, pianist Jennifer Grant of the University of Mount Union and pianist Allyson Oyster of Alliance. The concert is being sponsored by Goris-Meadows Insurance Agency. 

Hydro fracturing will be the topic of discussion during the Continued Learning Program session at the University of Mount Union on Tuesday, April 12 at 10 a.m. in Campus Grounds of the Hoover-Price Campus Center. The speaker for the event will be Bill Gough, a 1971 graduate of Mount Union.

ATO Cuts for Cancer will be held Wednesday, April 6 from 4-7 p.m. at the Alpha Tau Omega (ATO) house on the University of Mount Union’s campus. Brothers of the fraternity will be receiving ridiculous haircuts, but it will come at a cost.

The athletic training facility within the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex (The MAAC) at the University of Mount Union was dedicated Friday, April 1 in honor of the late Daniel M. Gorman. Gorman, director of the athletic training education program and associate professor of human performance and sport business, passed away tragically on January 12.
