Members of Raider Relief, a philanthropic student organization at the University of Mount Union, have launched Bottle School Blitz – a 10-day community and campus-wide fund-raising effort. The project will benefit Hug it Forward, a non-profit organization with an innovative approach to improving the educational infrastructure of developing nations.

More than 175 people attended the University of Mount Union’s Association of International Students’ (AIS) annual international dinner on Saturday, November 12 on campus.

Dr. Ronald Mendel, associate professor of human performance and sport business and director of the University of Mount Union’s Exercise Science Program, will present Fit or Fat? on Tuesday, November 22 at the LINC Luncheon. The luncheon will be held in the Hoover-Price Campus Center at noon, which is located on the University’s campus. 

Dr. Sudhir Kaul and Ting Shen were the featured speakers at the University of Mount Union’s annual faculty forum on November 8.

The Mount Union Alliance Chorale will present a fall concert on Sunday, November 20 at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of the First United Presbyterian Church

The University of Mount Union’s Ralph and Mary Regula Center for Public Service and Civic Engagement and other volunteers from Mount Union along with guest chef Dennis Devies Jr. will prepare and host a free community-wide Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday, November 19 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Alliance Salvation Army. The meal is free, open to the public and will include activities for children.

Dr. Cynthia Taggart, professor of music education and area chair of music at the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Music, presented the Wolf Lecture on Thursday, November 3 at the University of Mount Union.

During the upcoming election day on Tuesday, November 8, Stark County voters will see some new faces working at the polls, specifically University of Mount Union students.

The University of Mount Union will hold a faculty research forum on Tuesday, November 8 at 10:35 a.m. in Room 206 of the Engineering and Business Building.

University of Mount Union student organizations trick or treated this Halloween, but not for candy. The students collected 3,385.8 pounds of canned goods from Alliance community members, which will benefit the Alliance Food Pantry.

Ten University of Mount Union students recently became official members of AmeriCorps. In October, the full-time undergraduate students took a pledge to complete 300 hours of community service over the span of 365 days through the Students In Service Program.
