Artwork by Margo Miller, assistant professor of art and director of the Crandall Art Gallery at Mount Union College, has been accepted into ViewPoint 2008.

The 26th Season Fall Concert of the Mount Union Alliance Chorale, under the direction of Mount Union faculty member John Roberts, will be held Sunday, November 23 at 3 p.m. at the First Christian Church, located on West Beech Street in Alliance.

The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center of Mount Union College will be holding Let’s Look at the Three Sisters on Thursday, November 20 from 10-11 a.m. Participants will learn about corn, beans and squash, how everything is related and about native crops and native people.

Angie Smith Alder, associate professor of criminal justice and director of pre-law, will present “How Powerful is the President?” at the LINC Community Luncheon to be held Tuesday, November 18 at noon in the East Room of the Hoover-Price Campus Center.

A junior recital featuring soprano Ralena Bevington of East Canton and pianist Abigail Sevcik of Minerva will be held on Monday, November 17 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall at Mount Union College The program will include a

Dr. Lin Wu, professor of biology and chair of the Department of Biology at Mount Union College will present the Faculty Lecture on Thursday, November 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Tolerton and Hood Hall Room 100.

Tim Wise, anti-racist activist and writer, presented a lecture on Thursday, November 6 in the Mount Union Theatre.

The Mount Union College Clarinet Quintet and Woodwind Quintet will present a concert on Wednesday, November 19 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.

The Mount Union Handbell Choir will be performing a holiday concert in Presser Recital Hall of Cope Music Hall on Sunday, November 16 at 3 p.m.

The Mount Union College Horn Ensemble will present a recital on Monday, November 10 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.

The Mount Union College Jazz Ensemble will present Latin Alterations on Tuesday, November 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.

The Mount Union College Varsity Cheerleaders recently had the opportunity to volunteer in the Alliance community for the Alliance Kiwanis Club, along with members of Alpha Tau Omega and Alpha Delta Pi.

“Millions of American citizens are voiceless,” declared Kaley Smitley, one of the six Mount Union students debating the necessity of the Electoral College at the recent Student Debate held in Chapman Hall.

The Mount Union College Department of Music will present a Piano Keys Recital students of Dr. Maira Balacon on Friday, November 7 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.

Thirty students from Alliance Middle School Students visited Mount Union College last week. 15 of the students are from Betsy Brown’s class and 15 from Karen Whitaker’s class.

An art exhibit featuring recent landscape photography by Gary Hart and Don Smith will be on display in Crandall Art Gallery from November 3 through December 8. A reception will be held on Thursday, November 6 from 4-6 p.m. in the Gallery.
