Individual towns, counties, solid waste management districts and soil and water conservation districts across Ohio will benefit this spring from $115,885 in Litter Clean-up Grants from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). The grants, which range from $200 to $2,500, are aimed at encouraging community participation in April's Keep Ohio Beautiful Month activities.

Mount Union College will host the 2008 Public Service Leadership Workshop Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The program, “The Trusted Leader: Building the Relationships that Make Communities Work,” is being presented by the Ralph and Mary Regula Center for Public Service.

Dr. Rebecca Stevens, professor of sociology and chair of the Department of Sociology at Mount Union College, will be the featured speaker for the next session of LINC, the college-community luncheon series featuring Mount Union professors and community members discussing current topics, on Tuesday, March 18 at noon in the Campus Grounds of the Hoover-Price Campus Center.

The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center of Mount Union College will be holding the Spring Equinox Egg Balancing or "Egg Zen Trick" on Thursday, Match 20 from 2-4 p.m.

The J.T. Huston-Dr. J.D. Brumbaugh Nature Center at Mount Union College will hold a Drum Circle on Saturday, May 19 at 2 p.m.

Dr. Gail Dines presented “Sex(ism), Identity, and Intimacy in a Pornographic Culture” on Thursday, March 6 in the Mount Union Theatre as the Women’s History Month featured speaker.

Sandy Douglas, senior women's administrator and head softball coach; Rev. Marty CashBurless, chaplain of the college; and Anna McClaugherty, a senior English major of Alliance, were honored with the Jane Weston Chapman Award at a ceremony held Thursday evening in conjunction with the Women’s History Month lecture, presented by Dr. Gail Dines.

Mount Union College will celebrate Women’s History Month in March with speakers and events that will recognize the progress of women’s achievements and help raise awareness about of the rights of women.

A Mount Union College Preparatory Division Musicale will be held Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall, located within Cope Music Hall on the corner of Vincent Blvd. and Union Ave.
