Mount Union College will host its next Continued Learning Session featuring Harry Paidas, vice president for public affairs and marketing at the College, who will present Running Against the Wind, how a middle aged person trained for running the original marathon course in Greece on Tuesday, April 28 at 10 a.m. in the East Room of the Hoover-Price Campus Center (HPCC). This will be the final session for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Stark County Honors Flute Choir will perform on Tuesday, April 21 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall at Mount Union College. The choir is under the direction of music faculty member Robin Tryon.

Mount Union College will be hosting its Second Annual Student Celebration Honoring Our Latest Academic Research (SCHOLAR) Day on Thursday, April 23 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. SCHOLAR Day is a campus-wide day to celebrate the outstanding scholarship of Mount Union students.

Three Mount Union College students received awards in the East Central Colleges’ Eighteenth Annual Student Literary Competition. Participating schools included Bethany College, Heidelberg University, Hiram College, Marietta College, Mount Union College, Muskingum College and Otterbein College.

Even though the United States is in the middle of an economic recession and in a world that is changing everyday, Fareed Zakaria still places faith in America. Zakaria addressed the many important issues facing America today during the 2009 Schooler Lecture, held in the Timken Gymnasium on April 14.
