The University of Mount Union has named Dr. Nezam Al-Nsair its new director of nursing. In this position, Al-Nsair will be responsible for launching the institution’s proposed Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, scheduled to begin in the fall of 2013 pending the appropriate external approvals.

Philip Gerard, chair and professor of creative writing at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, will present the Mary W. and Eric A. Eckler Endowment in Literature and Drama at the University of Mount Union on Thursday, February 16 at 10:30 a.m. in Presser Recital Hall. He will present The Patron Saint of Dreams, which is the title of his newest book that will be released in March. Immediately following Gerard’s lecture, a book signing will be held in the lobby of Cope Music Hall. Many of his books are currently available for purchase in Mount Union’s University Store.

Sculptures and drawings by Bob Buganski, associate professor of art and chair of the Department of Art at the University of Mount Union, will be on display in the Crandall Art Gallery on the Mount Union’s campus from now until Wednesday, February 29. An artist reception also will be held on Thursday, February 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Gallery.
