MY EXCEPTIONAL STORY

Choosing Mount
My older sister is one year older than me and she goes to Mount Union. The school kept me a good distance from home and it is a good size for me.

A Caring Community
The people at Mount Union are some of the best people I have ever met. Mount has a family feel to it. It is a caring community where you know you can go to anyone for help.

Favorite Campus Spot
I like to work out at the MAAC to break up my crazy class schedule.

Preparing for Success
Mount Union has great professors who let you know exactly what it will be like after graduation. They are ready to assist you in applying for grad school or job searching.

Information Systems
I chose information systems as my major because I always had an interest in technology. My favorite class so far is programming one because it is where I first fell in love with my major. I had never done computer programming before and I definitely had a lot to learn. The major is challenging and rewarding.

Exciting Internships
I participated as an IT intern at Glamorgan Castle down the street from Mount Union. I worked hand in hand with a classmate, Kevin Bednar, under Chad Morris ‘05, a Mount Alum who is now the IT person for Alliance City Schools. This turned out to be an amazing experience for me. I learned so much from setting up Smart Tables to updating computers.

Passionate Professors
Dr. Kirchmeyer, who recently retired, was my programming II professor and he is the reason I am a marshal of the University. I have never met a more passionate professor. Not only is he passionate about computers, he is also extremely passionate about helping students learn. He is always willing to help, no matter if it’s 6 a.m. in his office or 9 p.m. via email. My advisor, professor Cindric, is the reason I am an information systems major. I came to Mount my freshmen year undecided on my major, but after taking a class with him, I loved and understood programing. Ever since, he has helped so much with planning my schedule every semester and keeping me on track. He is a great professor and is willing to listen to any concern I have, no matter how small.
