ALLIANCE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union is proud to announce that its nursing program has received full unconditional approval from the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN) for the next five years.

The board establishes regulations for nursing education to assure programs maintain academic and clinical standards for the preparation of entry level nurses.

The nursing program at Mount has also received a full unconditional accreditation by The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) last year. CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency, contributing to the improvement of the public's health. The Commission ensures the quality and integrity of nursing programs.

“These milestone achievements are testaments to the quality and rigor of the nursing program at Mount Union,” said Dr. Nezam Al-Nsair, professor and chair of the Department of Nursing at Mount Union. “It also shows the commitment of the nursing faculty and the University to main quality of education to graduate students who can meet the challenges of the profession.”

The University recently had its first class of students graduate with their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees in May.
