Office of Alumni Engagement Hosts Dinner with 12 Strangers Event
November 20, 2017
ALLIANCE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union Office of Alumni Engagement hosted its annual “Dinner with 12 Strangers” event on Wednesday, November 15 as a way for members of the Student Alumni Association to network with alumni and friends of the University.
Held at the Alliance Country Club, the goal of this event was to strengthen the connection between current students and alumni by sharing campus and career experiences in a casual environment.
“It is our hope that both groups will be able to utilize this time in getting to know each other personally and professionally,” said Tiffany Hogya, director of alumni relations and university activities. “The role of our alumni during the evening is to mentor and answer any questions the students involved may have as they prepare for their future, plus share memories from their time at Mount Union. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy meaningful conversations over great food.”
This year’s alumni and friends guest list included: Amanda Bridenstine ’11, Chris Cugini ’13, Laura Griffin ’11, Chad Johnson ’07, Stephanie Novak ’12, Missy (Schumacher ’79) Ruggles, Beth Schaefer ’01, Bill Schumacher ’82, Jen Slack ’03, Len Slack ’69, Nick Walker ’12, and Mark and Sharon Inzetta, parents of Mount Union alumni Adam Inzetta ’09 and Richard Inzetta ’10.
This group encompasses alumni who earned degrees in eight different areas with professional ties to healthcare administration and coordination, teaching and executive business roles. Of the students who attended, six intend to major in nursing, while others are in pre-med, exercise science and other science-related fields, and education.
