Ryan Adler, M '11

Major: PA Studies
Job Title: Physician Assistant

I applied to 10 PA programs and visited several of the schools. It was evident from the interview process at Mount Union that I wasn’t going to be a number, but an individual in the program with the opportunity to have individualized attention if needed. The facilities were among the best that I had seen.

Physician Assistant Student Success

Mount Union’s PA program provides numerous networking opportunities for students and leads to outstanding exam and job placement rates.

Students within the PA program will earn a Master of Science degree upon successful completion of 27 months of coursework and clinical rotations.

Clinical rotations provide ample opportunities for students to impress potential employers, often leading to jobs following graduation. Employment of physician assistants is projected to grow 37 percent from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations. As demand for healthcare services grows, physician assistants will be needed to provide care to patients. (https://www.bls.gov/ooh/healthcare/physician-assistants.htm)

The 2011 inaugural class ranked 19thout of 106 schools in the national PACKRAT exam, which measures students’ knowledge and competency in the field. They also received an exceptional pass rate of 95% on the PANCE (Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam), surpassing the national average of 92%. See additional PANCE results.
