PA Students Claim First Place in Challenge Bowl

Students in the University of Mount Union’s Physician Assistant Studies Program placed first in the Ohio Association of Physician Assistant’s (OAPA) Challenge Bowl, an academic challenge game held during its second annual student conference on February 18-19 in Columbus, OH.
Members of this year’s Challenge Bowl team included Jensen Lewis, a second year graduate student of Ravenna, OH, Shannon Quinn, a second year graduate student of Akron, OH and Carla Rose, a first year graduate from Uniontown, OH. Mount Union received the traveling Challenge Bowl trophy, which will be displayed on the University’s campus for one year.
During the conference, the OAPA awards scholarships to one student from each Physician Assistant Studies program in the State of Ohio. This year, Audrea Oaks, a second year graduate student of Washingtonville, OH, received the $1,000 scholarship for Mount Union.
In addition, OAPA awards a Past Presidents’ Scholarship to the student exemplifying exceptional leadership ability. For the second year in a row, a Mount Union graduate student received this prestigious scholarship. And, this year the $1,000 scholarship was presented to Kaili Gehring, a first year graduate student of Mineral Ridge, OH.
