Pam Newbold Appointed President of the Ohio Chapter of CUPA-HR

Pam Newbold, director of human resources and staff development at Mount Union College, was recently appointed president of the Ohio chapter of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR).

CUPA-HR is an association that was created to promote closer cooperation between institutions of higher education personnel and human resource administration. Their mission is to provide high quality resources that sustain performance, expand career options, boost capabilities, increase effectiveness and support efforts to advance and promote the human resource profession. They value membership, integrity, excellence, partnerships, responsiveness and diverse perspectives.
Newbold joined the Mount Union staff in 2000 as the director of human resources and employee development. She earned a bachelor's degree in human resource management from the Ohio State University and a juris doctorate degree from the University of Akron. She was admitted to the Ohio State Bar Association in 1988.
Prior to her affiliation with Mount Union College she spent time in private practice. She brought with her 11 years of experience in the areas of human resources, labor relations and corporate legal matters as a former employee of Republic Engineered Steels, Inc. in Canton.
