Pat Stone to Present “Libraries Transform” at CLP

ALLIANCE, Ohio- February’s Continued Learning Program (CLP) sessions will begin on Tuesday, February 2at the University of Mount Union with Pat Stone, Director of Rodman Public Library, presenting “Libraries Transform.”

Stone is a life-long resident of Alliance, graduating from Alliance High School in 1968 and Mount Union in 1972. Stone then attended Case Western Reserve University’s School of Library Science. She has worked in public libraries, school libraries and the library at the University of Mount Union. Stone has served as Director of Rodman Public Library for nine years. Prior to becoming the director, she was head of the Children’s Department for 10 years. Stone is involved in various organizations within the community such as the Ohio Library Council, Alliance Farmers’ Market Board, the Alliance Area Concert Association Board, the Chamber of Commerce Board, the Union Avenue United Methodist Preschool Board, PEO, Coterie, Sorosis and the Alliance Women’s Club. She has been a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Alliance for more than 50 years.

Stone will present on how libraries, including Rodman Public Library, continuously transform in order to adapt to the needs of the public. She will also discuss new programs and services at Rodman, including the new young adult area.

CLP sessions take place in the Newbold (East) Room of the Hoover Price Campus Center at 10 a.m. every Tuesday of the month. CLP sessions are free of charge and open to the public. Following the presentation and discussion, attendees are welcome to stay for lunch at the Kresge Dining Commons ($7).
