• The American Academy of Physician Assistants
  The professional organization for Physician Assistants. Vision Statement: “The American Academy of Physician Assistants is the leader in providing support and advocacy for physician assistants, the primary organization advancing the profession, a premier participant in health care transformation, and a passionate champion of patient-centered care.”

• Physician Assistance Education Association
  PAEA is the only national organization representing physician assistant educational programs in the United States. As of October 2008, all 142 accredited programs in the country had become members of the Association. PAEA provides services for faculty at its member programs, as well as to applicants, students, and other stakeholders. The Association was founded in 1972 as the Association of Physician Assistant Programs.

• American Psychological Association (APA) QuickStyle and Citation Guide
  While the Mount Union College Physician Assistant Program requires students to use AMA standards for research, writing, and citations, some science and technology journals use APA style. This QuickGuide only covers citations information.

• National Library of Medicine (NLM) Citation Manual—Citing Medicine
  The National Library of Medicine has published a style guide (Citing Medicine), available free at their website. It is available only chapter by chapter in (uncompressed) .pdf format, about a megabyte (MB) per chapter.

  MEDLINE is the principal online bibliographic citation database of National Library of Medicine's system, and is used internationally to provide access to the world's biomedical journal literature.

  A list of core clinical journals indexed by the National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Heath, with journal abbreviations.
