My favorite professor at Mount Union is Dr. Bob Ekey, assistant professor of physics and chair of the Department of Physics. He’s also my advisor, and I like the fact that I get to work with him every semester by helping him teach Introduction to Physics labs. Dr. Ekey also is on the pre-health professions committee and has given me a lot of advice as it pertains to preparing for the MCAT and applying to medical school.

Physics Major
The goal of physics is to understand how the universe behaves. Explore our dynamic undergraduate physics program that blends theory, experimentation and exploration. An array of independent, student-driven projects enhances our approach, including the unique opportunity for concentrated work in astronomy at our state-of-the-art observatory.
Physics graduates have found success working for organizations such as Ball Aerospace and Technologies Inc. and Southwest Research and teach at institutions including Otterbein College and the University of Florida.
Students of this program have also chosen to pursue graduate study at institutions including Yale University, University of Texas – San Antonio, Case Western Reserve University, Indiana University, University of Kentucky, University of Arizona and University of California – Davis.
The major in physics is administered by the Department of Physics, which also offers a minor in astronomy.
You may also want to check out mathematics, civil engineering, mechanical engineering and chemistry.
