Pianist Caroline Oltmanns to Perform at Mount Union College

Caroline Oltmanns will present a piano recital at Mount Union College on Monday, February 5 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.


Oltmanns will play selections from Beethoven, Chopin, Wilding and Brahms.

A native of Germany, she earned an undergraduate diploma from Staatliche Musikhochschule Freiburg and master's and doctoral degrees from The University of Southern California. She is currently associate professor of piano at Youngstown State University.

She has performed at Steinway Hall and Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City, Preston Bradley Hall in Chicago, Leo Bing Theater at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Redlands Bowl. She has also performed in Germany, France and Switzerland. Oltmanns has been heard on many radio stations across the United States and Germany and has had performances televised. She has also recorded several solo and chamber music CDs.

She will play 'Sonate in D Dur op. 28' by Ludwig von Beethoven, 'Etudes and Pr'ludes' by Fr'd'ric Chopin, 'The Oracle at Delphi' by James Wilding and 'Sonate No. 3 in f minor, op. 5' by Johannes Brahms.
