Pianist Kristín Jónína Taylor to Present Guest Recital at Mount Union College January 28

The Mount Union College Department of Music will present guest pianist Dr. Kristín Jónína Taylor on Monday, January 28 in Presser Recital Hall at 8 p.m.
Taylor is currently co-chair of the music department at Waldorf College in Forest City, IA. With roots in Iceland, she came to the United States to study at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. She earned a doctor of musical arts degree in piano performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
In 2003 Taylor was invited to give a performance at the Classical Hall of Fame in Cincinnati where she was a soloist such orchestras as the Independence Symphony, the Jefferson City Symphony and the UMKC Symphony Orchestra. She was featured with the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory Philharmonia as the winner of the Brahms d minor Concerto Competition. Most recently, she gave a pan-Nordic recital at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
The recital will include works by Heino Kaski, Erkki Melartin, Edvard Greig, Maurice Ravel and Páll Ísólfsson.
