poet elizabeth hawkins to visit mount union college through wolf lecture series

Poet Elizabeth Hawkins will visit Mount Union College as part of the Wolf Lecture Series and in celebration of National Poetry Month.
Hawkins is an award-winning writer and facilitator who founded Journey Writing Workshops TM. She is a member and grant writer for Dream Change Coalition, a grass-roots organization that works globally for environmental and social balance.
Hawkins will be giving presentations to students on Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3. On April 3 she will also be speaking at 7 p.m. in the Alumni Room at the Hoover-Price Campus Center. This presentation is open to the public. Hawkins will discuss writing for change and awareness and about her involvement with the Dream Change Coalition.
Other speakers coming in April as a part of this series include Jim Daniels of Carnegie Mellon University, who has written 7 books of poetry and Sandra Maria Esteves, a poet who presents literary programs throughout the United States. The dates and times for these events will be announced at a later date.
These speakers are being presented through the Wolf Lecture Series, and the Mount Union College English Department, Liberal Studies Program, and Bookstore. The Eleanor Mincks Wolf Lecture was established by John L. Wolf of Medina in memory of his wife Eleanor. A 1939 graduate of Mount Union College, she was a former teacher of English and Latin in Richfield and Highland school districts.
