Political Science Careers
The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that employment of political scientists is likely to grow faster than average, reflecting the growing importance of public policy and research. An increase in interest in politics, foreign affairs and public policy, including social and environmental policy issues, healthcare and immigration, is leading the demand for increased research efforts in this innovative field.
Our major in political science offers an applied approach to the study of politics while providing a broad education in American government, political theory and international politics. The program emphasizes practical experiences with a wide range of internships as well as opportunities to meet with public officials from both parties and from all levels of government.
