Teaching Area(s): Political Science

Mount Union can offer something that most other schools cannot: It can provide you with the education you would find at a big state school but with the added benefit of small classes and faculty members who really know their students.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that employment of political scientists is likely to grow faster than average, reflecting the growing importance of public policy and research. An increase in interest in politics, foreign affairs and public policy, including social and environmental policy issues, healthcare and immigration, is leading the demand for increased research efforts in this innovative field.

Our major in political science offers an applied approach to the study of politics while providing a broad education in American government, political theory and international politics. The program emphasizes practical experiences with a wide range of internships as well as opportunities to meet with public officials from both parties and from all levels of government. No matter your specific interest, a degree in political science can put you on the track to success in a number of fields.
