Political Science Major
Today, governments control the vast majority of resources throughout the world. If you hope to make a difference in our global society, it is critical that you understand how these governments work. Be engaged through our comprehensive program in political science that provides exposure to American government, political theory and international politics. Explore opportunities for active learning and internships that will allow you to discover where your future may lead.
Mount Union political science alumni work for members of Congress, with state and local officials and in various political organizations, government offices and private businesses as well. Many have gone on to earn law or graduate degrees, and some have even pursued elected office themselves.
Political science students also have pursued graduate studies at institutions across the country including The Ohio State University, Miami University and Fordham University and law school at universities including University of South Carolina, University of North Carolina, University of Pittsburgh and West Virginia University, among others.
The political science major is administered by the Department of Political Science and International Studies, which also offers a program in international studies. You may also want to check out American studies, criminal justice, economics, legal studies, ROTC and sociology.
