Preview Session Held This Weekend At Mount Union
July 16, 2004
Mount Union College is hosting incoming freshmen for a summer session of Preview, Friday, July 16 through Saturday, July 17.
Preview and Orientation are part of an ongoing and multi-faceted transition process for new Mount Union students, involving academic, intellectual, and personal development. The primary goal of Preview and Orientation is to assist new students in making purposeful connections within the College community to increase their future success as college students.
There are four Preview sessions held throughout the summer and all incoming freshmen attend one Preview session. In addition to making student, faculty, staff and family connections, Preview provides students with the foundation to succeed academically. This includes math and foreign language testing, learning about the general education requirements, and meeting with an academic advisor to schedule classes for the fall semester.
Orientation is the second part of this orientation process. Orientation is held each fall a few days prior to the start of the semester, continuing the process started at Preview by helping new students connect with their roommates and first year classmates, co- and extra-curricular activities, and the faculty and academic curriculum. Orientation for the Fall Semester 2004 will take place Thursday, August 26 through Sunday, August 29. Students will move into their residence hall rooms on Thursday, August 26. Orientation information will be sent to new students during the first week of August.
Questions about Preview or Orientation may be directed to the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership at (330) 823-7288.
