Preview Sessions for Class of 2011 Continue This Weekend
May 10, 2010
Mount Union College will hold two Preview sessions for the Class of 2011 this weekend on campus.
Session III will run Friday, July 13 through Saturday July, 14 and Session IV will begin Sunday, July 15 and end Monday July, 16. The final session will be Thursday, August 23, prior to Orientation.
Session III will feature programming specifically related to the First-Year Experience. The final session in August will be geared to suit the needs of transfer students and students who live outside of a five-hour radius to the College.
Preview is a two-day summer orientation program designed to begin the college transition for both new students and parents, welcoming them to the Mount Union community. At Preview, participants will interact with other members of the incoming class and make new friends, meet members of the faculty and staff, learn about living in a residence hall community and explore extracurricular activities on campus. Students will also have the opportunity to get a head-start on many 'housekeeping' items ' activating their Purple Plu$ debit card accounts, sitting for their student ID photos and receiving their Mount Union computer network usernames and passwords.
Preview also provides students with the foundation to succeed academically. They will have the opportunity to learn about the general education requirements, take math and foreign language proficiency tests and schedule classes for the fall semester with the guidance of an academic advisor.
During Preview, incoming students and their parents will benefit from the knowledge of members of the Preview and Orientation guide staff, comprised of Mount Union's most outstanding student leaders. Extensively trained, the entire Preview and Orientation staff is available to answer questions, share experiences and help provide a smooth transition into life as part of the Mount Union community.
The entire freshmen class will return to campus on Friday, August 24 for Fall Orientation prior to the beginning of the 2007-2008 Academic Year on Monday, August 27.
