Preview Sessions Welcome Class of 2010 to Campus
May 10, 2010
Mount Union will hold its first Preview sessions for the new class of freshmen this weekend on campus.
Session three will bring incoming students on Friday, July 14 through Saturday, July 15 with session four following on Sunday, July 16 and Monday, July 17.
Preview is a two-day summer orientation program designed to begin the college transition process for both new students and parents, welcoming them to the Mount Union community. At Preview, participants will interact with other members of the incoming class and make new friends, meet members of the faculty and staff, learn about living in a residence hall community and explore extracurricular activities on campus. Students also have the opportunity to get a head-start on many 'housekeeping' items ' activating their Purple Plu$ debit card accounts, sitting for their student ID photos and receiving their Mount Union computer network usernames and passwords.
Preview also provides students with the foundation to succeed academically. They have the opportunity to learn about the general education requirements, take math and foreign language proficiency tests and schedule classes for the fall semester with the guidance of an academic advisor.
During Preview, incoming students and their parents will benefit from the knowledge of members of the Preview and Orientation guide staff, comprised of Mount Union's most outstanding student leaders. Extensively trained, the entire Preview and Orientation staff is available to answer questions, share experiences and help provide a smooth transition into life as part of the MountUnion community.
The entire freshmen class will return to campus on August 24 for fall orientation prior to the beginning of the 2006-2007 Academic Year on Monday, August 28.
