My favorite class thus far has been Epidemiology, which is the study of disease outbreak and prevention. I liked this class because it is the cornerstone of public health. Plus, it is amazing how many little details actually go into public health programs that keep us safe and healthy on daily basis.
Public Health Careers
A predicted shortage of trained public health workers will drive a demand for qualified and caring graduates in this field in the coming years, especially in light of current healthcare changes. You’ll be primed to truly make a difference in the world.
As a public health professional, you’ll be prepared to address current public health issues including childhood obesity, disease outbreaks, disaster prevention and recovery and nutrition and exercise. And, if your interests lie in the social implications of health and wellness, you’ll be encouraged to take the Certified Health Education Specialists exam after graduation.
