- Hometown: Fairview Park, Ohio
- Major: Public Health
My favorite class thus far has been Epidemiology, which is the study of disease outbreak and prevention. I liked this class because it is the cornerstone of public health. Plus, it is amazing how many little details actually go into public health programs that keep us safe and healthy on daily basis.
Public Health Internships and Hands-On Learning
Students who choose to major in public health at the University Mount Union will have endless opportunities to get “real-world” experience outside of the classroom. By getting involved in extracurricular opportunities and field experiences, you can strengthen your skills and knowledge in health and well-being, both of which are critical to career success.
Experiential learning opportunities will give you many chances to put classroom knowledge to work. These hands-on learning opportunities include:
- Internships
- Service-learning projects with local health departments
- Research with faculty or student peers
- Independent research
