Teaching Area(s): Health and Public Health

I like to use case studies and activities to bring the content to life because public health should be fun! We will watch movies, interview public health professionals, listen to guest speakers and develop careers skills.

Hands-On Learning

Students who choose to major in public health at the University Mount Union will have endless opportunities to get “real-world” experience outside of the classroom. By getting involved in extracurricular opportunities and field experiences, you can strengthen your skills and knowledge in health and well-being, both of which are critical to career success.

Experiential learning opportunities will give you many chances to put classroom knowledge to work. These hands-on learning opportunities include:

  • Internships
  • Service-learning projects with local health departments
  • Research with faculty or student peers
  • Independent research
