Raider Relief Seeks Alliance Home for Makeover

March 05, 2014

Alliance, Ohio – Members of Raider Relief, a philanthropic student organization at the University of Mount Union, have announced plans for their third March Makeover. The project will challenge dozens of student volunteers to transform an Alliance area home in a single weekend using donated materials. The event will take place on the weekend of March 29, 2014.

In March of 2011, Raider Relief completed a similar project; resulting in a complete facelift for the Empowerment Center at 715 S. Arch Avenue in Alliance. One year later, another “makeover” was successfully completed, resulting in a dramatic improvement to the living conditions of a disabled Alliance resident.

Raider Relief is asking Alliance residents to nominate friends, co-workers, family members and neighbors as prospective recipients of this year’s makeover.

“Our only requirement is that the home be owner occupied, and that the people living there be facing one or more of life’s challenges,” said Dan Goswick, one of the project’s student leaders.

Individuals wishing to nominate a home/homeowner for this year’s makeover may do so online at Nominations are due by noon on by Monday, March 10, 2014.
