Relay For Life Raises More Than $34,000 for Cancer Research
April 18, 2010
Over the weekend, 44 teams helped to raise more than $34,000 for cancer research at the Mount Union College/Alliance Relay For Life held on Friday, April 9 and Saturday, April 10 at Peterson Field House on Mount Union’s campus.
This year’s theme, “No Playing Around with Cancer” was well received by all the participants. A series of events were held throughout the evening including battle of the bands, relay wide scavenger hunt and the miss relay competition. Raja belly dancers also performed during Relay for Life.
Chair Jeremy Evans, a junior political science major from West Farmington, OH and co-chair Laura Ambrose, a senior psychology major from Navarre, OH were very pleased with the overall turnout.
Established to celebrate survivorship, remember victims and raise money for future cancer advancements, Relay for Life provided a incredible feeling of community among participants this year.
