- Major: Philosophy and Psychology
I chose to major in philosophy because it tackles the big questions in life. In philosophy, you are never expected to accept anything as true just because somebody says so. It is up to the individual to judge what is true by reason rather than deferring to an authority figure for the answer.

Religious Studies Major
The nature and place of religion in human experience - this is the foundation of our program in Mount Union University religious studies. In wrestling with religion's role in human life, you will examine the scriptural, historical, theological and ethical traditions of the world's religions and grow your understanding of the cultures of the world through knowledge of their spiritual beliefs. A flexible curriculum and the opportunity to pair classroom studies with hands-on experiences through work with churches, service organizations and trips abroad is what makes our religion major unique.
Religious studies graduates have found success working for churches in the United States and Abroad as well as organizations such as the Peace Corps.
Students of this program have also chosen to pursue graduate study at institutions including Talbot School of Theology and Columbia University.
The major in religious studies is administered by the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, which also offers a program in philosophy and a pre-professional program in pre-ministry.
You may also want to check out Africana studies, American studies, gender studies, international studies, psychology and sociology.
