Repertory Strings to Perform October 3 at Mount Union

The Repertory Strings, will present a concert of Baroque and 20th century string music on Tuesday, October 3 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.

Tuesday night's repertory will feature Mount Union College senior Natalie Deen performing Allegro Spiritoso by Senallie, faculty violinist Bohdan Subchak on Handel's Concerto Grosso Op. 6 No. 12 and Corelli's Op. 6 No. 9; and works by Sibelius and Gustav Holst.

Founded by Dr. Elaine Anderson, associate professor of music, in 1998, the Repertory Strings is a small chamber orchestra made up of Mount Union College students, string faculty, advanced high school players and invited community members. Anderson also serves as conductor of the ensemble.

Anderson teaches cello, bass, chamber music, theory and music appreciation classes. She earned a bachelor of music degree in string education from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, a master of music degree in performance and theory from the Manhattan School of Music and a doctorate of music degree in cello performance from the University of Alabama.
