Robert Gruca Presents Guest Recital at Mount Union College

Robert Gruca presented a guest recital at Mount Union College on Tuesday, October 8 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.
Gruca began classical guitar training under the guidance of Roger Humphrey, a guitar professor at Alma College in Michigan. He received his bachelor's degree from Grand Valley State University, where he studied with Brian Morris. He received his master's degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with John Holmquist. He has received the Cleveland Institute of Music Institutional Scholarship and the Michael and Amelia Ablin Award in Guitar in 2001 and 2002.
Gruca has attended master classes with David Russell, The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, David Brandon, Antigoni Goni, Phil Candelaria, Lily Afshar, Steve Robinson, and Hubert Kapell. He recently won third prize in the Rantucci International Guitar Competition.
Gruca will be performing works by Schubert, Dusan Bogdanovic, Domenico Scarlatti, Nakita Koshkin, Joaquin Rodrigo and Roland Dyens.
