Teaching Area(s): Music

I believe in involving the students in the process of learning, and allowing them to participate in the instruction process for their peers. My favorite part of the job is seeing the creative process of working on music throughout the semester, and seeing it improve.

Important Information

Band Camp will be held August 11-18. Student Leaders and Kappa Kappa Psi will report on the 9th, Percussion and Flags/Batons on the 10th, and Full Band on the 11th.

The Purple Raider Marching Band supports all regular-season home games, playoff games, and the National Championship Game (Stagg Bowl - Salem, Virginia). Students are required to attend at least two of the four home playoff games in the fall 2017 season.

We are looking into several local high school band shows (exhibitions). The Purple Raider Marching Band will attend and perform at these shows. Dates and locations to be determined.

The Director of Bands reserves the right to change the schedule if needed. Game times may vary and other events might take place which require the band. All members of the band must be flexible. Should changes occur, you will be notified immediately.

If you have questions, please contact Director of Bands, Dr. Otis French, or Kappa Kappa Psi President and Head Drum Major (student), Raelene Jones.
