Seraphin Trio to Perform at Mount Union March 23

The Seraphin Trio will perform at Mount Union College on Tuesday, March 23 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.
The Seraphin Trio was formed in 1985 by David Edge, Steven Wedell and Richard Bell. Since that time, they have performed on many of the chamber music series in and around central Ohio, such as the Short North Chamber Series, the Jefferson Academy Series, Marietta College, First Community Church, First Congregational Church and Otterbein College.
Bell studied at the University of Oklahoma, the University of Iowa, and the Cleveland Institute of Music. His principal teachers were Marjorie Cornelius, Charles Wendt and Alan Harris. Bell joined the Columbus Symphony in 1978 as associate principal cellist.
Edge joined the Columbus Symphony in 1984. He received his musical training at Indiana University and Northwestern University. He studied with Daniel Guilet, Josef Gingold, Franco Gulli and Samuel Magad. Edge has played with the Montreal Symphony, Chicago Lyric Opera and the Harrington String Quartet.
Steven Wedell attended Western Michigan University and Boston University where he studied with Walter Trampler. Before coming to Columbus, Wedell was principal violist of the Atlantic Symphony in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He joined the Columbus Symphony in 1983.
