MY EXCEPTIONAL STORY
The swimming coach at Mount, Coach Mojock, sent me a letter of interest during my junior year in high school. From the moment I stepped foot on campus, I fell in love with everything. I love the sense of community that I feel here because everyone is so nice.
Favorite Campus Spots
I have two favorite places on campus. The first one is the swimming pool because I absolutely love swimming. The second one is Bracy Hall because I am so fascinated with the displays and learning more about geology.
Preparing for Success
Mount Union provides a great education along with a wonderful atmosphere for students to learn and succeed. Not every school is able to say that. The faculty here is doing a fantastic job of preparing me and other students for success after graduation. I know that when I chose Mount Union, I made the right decision for myself.
Not many schools offer paleontology as a major, so geology was the closest. I love all of my geology courses. I have a huge fascination for studying how the earth came to be how it is today.
My favorite hands-on experience in my major so far was when our Historical Geology class went to West Virginia. It was the first time I was ever out in the field and I got a look at the interesting geology. Though I have not participated in an internship yet, I may be looking into one over the summer at the Natural History Museum in Drexel.
Both Dr. Gray and Dr. McNaught are my favorite professors. I think that they work so well together and they do an excellent job at teaching students about geology.
I plan to become a vertebrate paleontologist. I have wanted to study fossils ever since I was a little kid. I also plan on coaching swimming because I have a true passion for the sport and I want to continue to help others acquire the same passion.
