Becoming an Academic Partner with the Spectrum Education Center

The Spectrum Education Center welcomes partnerships with academic institutions looking to provide unique and valuable opportunities to their students interested in developmental disability education, intervention, and advocacy. As part of the Spectrum Program, students will benefit from dynamic experiential learning opportunities that provide academic depth and value rarely seen at the undergraduate level. The Spectrum Program combines specifically designed coursework with real-world application to create a unique and valuable 15-week semester experience.

  • Create relationships with clinical sites to increase experiential learning opportunities.
  • The Spectrum Program’s applicable experiences are desirable to a wide variety of potential employers and graduate programs.
  • Interns are often recruited for full-time employment after graduation.
  • The Spectrum Program provides the education and training needed to meet the growing demand for professionals in the autism community.

Academic Partner Requirements

Academic Partners must designate a campus liaison to work with students who are interested in the Spectrum Program. The campus liaison serves as the primary contact person on campus and provides students with Spectrum Program information and requirements.

Academic Partners approve Spectrum’s course content and assigns semester credits according to their course catalog. Students selected for Spectrum Program remain enrolled at their home institution for the duration of the program.
