My favorite hands-on experience in sport business so far has been working at the Sport Sales Workshop in Cleveland. I wasn’t a student participant, but instead a volunteer where I assisted with various tasks throughout the event. I am interested in event operations, so this was a great opportunity to get a feel for what that career might be like. I was also was very fortunate to meet many inspirational individuals within the sport business industry.

Join the growing number of sport-related professionals emerging from Mount Union. You will benefit from faculty with extensive sport industry experience through our internationally-known program. Sales training and group ticket sales, sponsorship proposals, business plans and event hosting bid proposals - you'll learn from these experiences and more, including practical preparation through internships, seminars and industry conferences.
Sport business graduates have found success working for organizations including the San Diego Padres, GMR Marketing, ANNIKA Golf, Vancouver and Singapore Youth Olympics., Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Mandalay Sports, Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus Crew, Akron Aeros, Palisade Baseball, PGA Tour, Texas Rangers, Charlotte Bobcats, Atlanta Hawks/Thrashers, NBA League Office, USA Taekwondo and Pro-Football Hall of Fame.
Students of this program have also chosen to pursue graduate study at institutions including The Ohio State University, Marshall University, University of Indiana, University of Akron and Baldwin-Wallace College, among others.
The in sports business major is administered by the Department of Human Performance and Sport Business, which also offers programs in athletic training, exercise science, health, physical education and public health.
