Stark County Park District?s Environmental Conference Slated for October 13

The Stark County Park District's Environmental Conference, The Power of Conservation, will be held on Friday, October 13, 2006. It will be presented by the R.G. Drage Career Education Center in partnership with Malone College, Mount Union College, the Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center, Quail Hollow State Park and Stark County Educational Service Center.

Numerous events will take place through out the day, beginning at 8:30 a.m. with an address given by the keynote speaker, John M. Hoopingarner, executive director of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District. Other events dealing with water quality, Ohio's plants and wildlife and outdoor education will take place following the keynote speaker and carry on until the end of the day at 3:15 p.m.

Registration is required and includes lunch provided by Fox and Hound English Pub & Grille. Advanced Registration is $15. After October 5, the registration fee is $20. No refunds will be provided after September 29, 2006. This event is free for school-aged children and college students with valid ID.

Registration at the event will be from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
