Music Classes to Stimulate Childhood Development

September 13, 2010

The Preparatory Division of Music at the University of Mount Union will begin offering Kindermusik classes on campus for newborns up to three-year-olds.
Kindermusik is learning through movement and music. The classes allow for children to play, listen, sing, move and dance to musical activities specifically designed to stimulate early childhood development. All of the activities are designed to strengthen developing neurons, build gross and fine motor skills and enhance social-emotional development.
Two different sessions are available – newborns through 18-month-old children and 18 month-old children through three-year-olds. The cost for the eight week program for newborn children through 18 months is $142 and will be held on Monday evenings at 4:30 p.m. The cost for the ten week program for 18-month-old children through three-years-old is $177 and will be held on Monday evenings at 5:30 p.m. Music classes will begin on Monday, October 4 in room 114 in Cope Music Hall on Mount Union’s campus.
