Student Donations Benefit Alliance Food Pantry

April 22, 2010

Mount Union College students made a canned food drive held through the Campus Bookstore a success, generously giving to those in need during his holiday season.

The canned goods were displayed in the Bookstore before being donated to the First Christian Church of Alliance Food Pantry. Non-perishable goods donated to the Food Pantry benefit individual Alliance residents in need as well as Alliance area service organizations.

Mount Union students received 10 percent off a clothing item with the donation of one canned good and 20 percent off with two canned goods.

According to Mary Fisher, manager of the Campus Bookstore, this year's drive resulted in the donation of nearly 300 non-perishable food items.
