Student Panel Selected To Present At Asian Studies Symposium

Alliance, Ohio Dr. Liangwu Yin, assistant professor of History and Political Science and director of the Non-Western Studies program at Mount Union College, will travel with selected students to Marietta to present papers at the Asian Studies Symposium on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22.
The student panel is titled: "United States and East Asian Conflicts, 1937-1972," and it features the papers of Rodney Chenos of Galloway, Justin Haren of Louisville, Joseph Metcalf of Parma and Michael White of Jackson.
Dr. Yin will be the chair and discussant of the panel. Alliance native Nathan D. England will present Chenos' paper, "Should Nuking Be Considered a Massacre?" The titles of the remaining papers are as follows: "Nixon's Visit to China's Effect on Foreign Relations," presented by Haren; "The Four Connecting Factors Causing the Pacific War," presented by Metcalf and "Bushido on the Man," presented by White.
The Symposium is organized by Marietta College.
