Students for Environmental Awareness Sponsor Program on Hybrid Cars
March 6, 2003
Mount Union College's Students for Environmental Awareness recently sponsored a program on hybrid cars, featuring the Honda Civic Hybrid. Joe Gray from Park Honda presented a program on the car, which is run by gasoline and electric.
"We wanted to make other students aware of our organization," said Students for Environmental Awareness President Jamie Clapsaddle, a junior from Lisbon. "We were very pleased with the turnout and the information presented."
Students and faculty in attendance asked questions regarding the vehicle's safety, gas mileage, and questions regarding emissions. After the program, they were invited to the parking lot to see the Civic Hybrid.
"Students for Environmental Awareness is now planning to pursue, through Student Senate, work to encourage the College to purchase a hybrid vehicle for the fleet," said Clapsaddle.
