November 17, 2011

Students from the University of Mount Union came together on Wednesday to raise money for breast cancer research. Members of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity (ATO), Alpha Xi Delta Fraternity and the Black Student Union (BSU) raised money for the American Cancer Society during the second annual Stronger Men for Stronger Women event.
Students from ATO and BSU completed 21,376 push-ups from 8-10 p.m. in Campus Grounds of the Hoover-Price Campus Center. For each penny that was collected, the students did a single push-up. Throughout the evening, attendees counted the push-ups and the judges watched to see if the push-ups counted as stated in the official rules. Collectively, the three organizations and raised $1,230.26. The student organizations are donating the money to the American Cancer Society.
